Promotional Grant Funding — Eligible Expenses
Promotional Grant funding is intended to support outreach and promotional efforts that introduce the Arabian horse to new audiences and increase awareness of the breed. Funding should be used to help get the Arabian horse in front of more people and encourage interest and participation in the breed.
Eligible expenses may include:
- Radio, television, digital, social media, newspaper, and other advertising designed to promote the Arabian horse
- Printing of promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, postcards, banners, posters, and other outreach materials
- Advertising and promotional costs for Meet an Arabian Horse, Open Barn, educational, community outreach, or similar public-facing events
- Promotional materials or advertising that encourage attendance or participation in an Arabian horse outreach event
What Grant Funding Does Not Cover
Promotional Grant funding does not cover expenses associated with producing, operating, or conducting a horse show or other competition. The purpose of these funds is promotion and outreach—not event operations.
Ineligible expenses include, but are not limited to:
- Horse show staffing, personnel, or staff time
- Judges, stewards, scribes, ring crew, or other show officials
- Awards, trophies, ribbons, prizes, or exhibitor gifts
- Horse show facility, arena, stall, or equipment rental
- Horse hauling, transportation, mileage, lodging, or meals
- Horse show entry fees or other exhibitor-related expenses
- Equipment or supplies needed to conduct or operate a show
- General administrative or organizational expenses
- Any other costs associated with hosting, staffing, or operating a horse show
Important: The grant may support the promotion of an outreach event, but it does not cover the costs required to host or operate the event itself. For example, advertising a Meet an Arabian Horse event may be eligible; staffing, transportation, facility rental, or other operational costs associated with holding the event are not.
Request Timing & Reimbursement
Please submit your funding request no sooner than three weeks prior to your event. This allows the committee adequate time to review the request, determine eligibility, and process and issue funding before the event.
Requests submitted with less than three weeks' notice may not allow sufficient time for review and payment and may not be approved.
Funding requests should clearly identify:
- The event or promotional activity being supported
The audience or community being reached
- How the requested funds will be used to promote or introduce the Arabian horse
- An itemized estimate of the requested promotional expenses
- Copies or examples of proposed advertising or promotional materials, when applicable
The goal of the Promotional Grant program is simple: help more people discover the Arabian horse. Funding should directly support efforts to increase the visibility of the Arabian breed, create new opportunities for people to interact with Arabian horses, and encourage new people to become involved with the breed.
