• Oklahoma Pork Partners Derby Application

General Information:  The Oklahoma Pork Partners Derby is an event to be held in the 24-25 school year.  Eligibility is limited to Oklahoma 4-H or FFA members in grades 6-12 who have not previously exhibited any hogs at the Oklahoma Youth Expo.  The intent of this program is to offer opportunities to those not previously engaged in the livestock show program and provide a hands-on learning environment related to the selection, management, and marketing of a pork project while also offering opportunities for learning more about the Pork industry in Oklahoma and career opportunities that exist in this industry.  Applicants must have resources to purchase, and provide housing, feed, supplies and daily care for their pig throughout the project time frame. Selected applicants along with a parent or guardian and an ag teacher or 4-H Educator will be required to attend the kick-off orientation and selection event to be held on Tuesday, November 4, at the Totusek Arena in Stillwater.  Details for the Pork Partners program can be found on the okyouthexpo.com website or by contacting your local ag teacher or 4-H agent.  Applications must be submitted by October 15.
  • We certify that if selected, resources are available for the purchase cost, feeding, and all associated costs for the duration of the project. There is inherent risk of loss with any livestock animal, and we agree to accept this risk of loss. We understand the student is to be solely responsible for daily care, record keeping, and marketing for this project. We further agree to participate in all phases of this project, including show events and the OKPORK Experience.
