Thank you for your interest in Rossall and our scholarship programme.To apply for a scholarship you will need to have submitted a general registration form and a scholarship application form and paid a registration fee. You can complete all of these steps within this Scholarship Application Form if you have not yet done so.
For the Pupil Registration section, you will need:
- A copy of your child’s passport
- Copies of your child’s last two school reports
For the Scholarship Application section, you will need:
- A supporting statement in which the applicant introduces themselves and explains their interests and hobbies, hopes for the future and why they would like to join Rossall, with a specific focus on the scholarships for which they are applying. This can be a short handwritten or typed document, possibly containing photos, or a short video.
- Evidence to support the scholarships for which they are applying, including:
  - Current grades or playing / performance level
  - Achievements and awards
  - Membership of related schools, clubs, teams, groups, etc
  - References and contact details of referees e.g. teachers, coaches, etc
  - For Sixth Form applicants:
    
    Predicted GCSE grades (if known)
    
    Likely Sixth Form subject choices
- A registration fee of £100 (please note, if you have already registered for Rossall and paid this or your child is a current student, you do not need to pay again).
After applying:
- You will receive an email confirmation of your application.
- Your application will be then reviewed and we may invite you to our Scholarship Assessment event.

Please be advised Rossall does not offer fully funded scholarships or means tested bursary support to international students. Applications for scholarships for overseas students will be considered on a case by case basis and will be assessed in a manner consistent with the UK scholarship process. Such awards, if successful, are typically extremely rare in nature and only available to exceptional candidates.

Rossall provides a number of different type of scholarships, each equally prestigious because they take into account the pupil's abilities in different fields of endeavour.

All pupils applying to Rossall will be required to sit the Rossall School Entrance Examination, comprising written tests English, Mathematics and Cognitive Ability, and undertake an interview with the Headmaster or a member of the senior academic team.

Signature Football Scholarship

Football Scholarships will be awarded to those who can demonstrate a high level of ability in Football, and who show an outstanding attitude and commitment to the School and their own development. Candidates will be assessed on their current level of competency and future potential. As part of the process there will also be an interview with the Director of Football.

Football Scholars are expected to attend all the training provided and to participate in the activities and fixtures the Sports Department arranges. These may involve weekends and after school events which will take priority over other commitments outside of the School.

Performing & Creative Arts Scholarships

Music Scholarship

Candidates for Music Scholarships are required to attend an audition and interview with the Director of Music. Candidates will be asked to:
- Play or sing two contrasting pieces on main instrument or one piece on each instrument if more than one is offered.
- Aural tests of Grade 3 (11+) or Grade 5 (13+) - Identical to the ABRSM format. (Sixth Form Grade 6)
- Viva Voce about candidate’s musical experience and interest.
  11+ candidates should have reached Grade 3 level and 13+ candidates Grade 5 level in their main instrument. (Sixth Form Grade 6)
Music Scholars are expected to attend all the lessons assigned to them and to participate in the ensembles and engagements that the Music Department arranges. These may involve weekends and after school events which will take priority over other commitments outside of the School.

Signature Piano Scholarship

Candidates for Piano Scholarships are required to attend an audition and interview with the Director of the International Piano Academy. Candidates will be asked to:
- Play two contrasting pieces on the piano.
  Take an assessment of Grade 6 standard. Identical to the ABRSM format.
  Viva Voce about the candidate’s musical experience and interest.
  Candidates should be able to provide evidence that they have reached Grade 6 level on the piano

Drama Scholarship

Candidates for Drama Scholarships are required to attend a workshop with the Head of Drama. Candidates will be asked to:
- Prepare a short monologue (maximum three minutes) from a play of their choosing, to be learnt by heart
- Participate in a group exercise
- Attend a short interview with the Head of Drama
Drama Scholars are required to be involved in all Drama productions and showcases.

Candidates for Broadway Academy of Performing Arts Scholarships are required to attend a workshop with the Director of Broadway Academy. Candidates will be asked to:
- Participate in a group dance class where they will be expected to learn, recall and perform a short piece of choreography.
- Prepare and perform a short monologue (maximum 3 minutes) from a play of their choosing, to be learnt by heart.
- Prepare and perform two contrasting songs from the musical theatre cannon.
Broadway Academy Scholars are required to be involved in all Performing Arts co-curricular activities, School productions and showcases. These may involve weekends and after school events which will take priority over other commitments outside of the School.

Candidates for Art and Design Scholarships are required to attend a practical test and interview with the Head of Art. Candidates will be asked to:
- Sit a practical test which will be held by the Head of Art under supervised conditions.
- Provide a portfolio of work to show their skill and interest in the subject.
- Attend a short interview where they will be asked to demonstrate their interest and experience in the subject.
Art and Design Scholars are expected to to participate in School and external exhibitions and trips to art galleries that the Art Department arranges.
