On this day as we ask for forgiveness, we also remember the suffering of others and take time to help those who are in need. Back again this year we will bring the community together for a special Yom Kippur Mitzvah Project in Bethpage - packing meals for those in need!
While many of us are observing this fast, in just two hours we will pack 10,000 meals to help hungry families gain access to the food and nutrition they need to survive. We hope you will sign-up to join us, as we know you will find it an extremely gratifying experience (children age six and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult).
We aim to raise at least $4,000, the cost for the project, and any and all designated money will go to support meals for people with food insecurity. We work in partnership with RISE AGAINST HUNGER, who bring staff and materials so we can bag these meals on Yom Kippur Afternoon.
This program fills up quickly, so please be sure to respond. NEW THIS YEAR: we will have two time slots availalbe for the project, all of which will take place in our BIG TENT:
- 2:30-3:30 pm Geared toward Adults (while our Families are at the Family Service
- 3:45-4:45 pm Geared toward Families (immediately following the Family Service
