Recreation Nova Scotia has received funding from the Province of Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage to provide financial assistance towards conference registration fees for the 2023 Recreation Nova Scotia Annual Conference.
The funding will go towards helping individuals offset costs of attending this engaging event which promotes professional development, healthy, vibrant community growth, innovation, diversity and inclusion and collaboration through networking and connecting with peers in the sector.
Subsidies offered are divided between two options:
- Option A: We have received funding up to $15,000 to support the following equity groups:
- Youth (individuals ages 29 and under),
- Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community,
- Persons with Disabilities,
- Indigenous Persons,
- African Nova Scotians
- and other Racialized Persons.
- Option B: We have received funding up to $5,000 to support the professional development of Provincial Recreation Organizations.
Funding is available to provide financial assistance for conference registration and necessary accommodations for applicants.
Application Criteria:
RNS will accept applications and provide assistance based on determined criteria and an equitable approval process.
The following is a list of criteria the selection committee will take into consideration:
- Total number of applications
- The likelihood a delegate will not be able to attend without this funding
- Regional representation
- Number of applicants from the same municipality/community
