Studio By The Tracks is seeking a part-time Youth Program Coordinator to work with both youth and adults on the autism spectrum.
The Youth Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, teaching, or assisting with for the following programs:
- Allan Cott Youth Classes: SBTT partners with Glenwood, Inc. to serve youth ages 6-18 enrolled in their Allan Cott School for Autism by providing weekly art education classes for approximately 15 students.
- Transitional Program: Our Transitional Program occurs at least twice a year on Wednesday afternoons for 6 consecutive weeks and serves ages 16+ with exploratory arts classes that expose participants to a variety of art mediums and techniques.
- Adult Program: Our core Adult Program consists of supported art making sessions for ages 18+ and serves approximately 50 adult artists on the autism spectrum
During an average week, this role will include teaching and coordinating 2 weekly Allan Cott classes and the twice annual 6-week Transitional Program, as well as assisting in 2 weekly Adult Program classes.
Responsibilities:
- Plan for and teach 2 weekly art education activities for Allan Cott students
- Conduct student assessments and select participants for Allan Cott art education classes
- Curriculum development for both 2 ongoing youth programs
Recruit and screen applicants for Transitional Program
- Teach or assist in all Transitional Program classes (two 6-week series annually, Wednesdays 4-5:30)
- Assist with marketing for Youth Programs
- Coordinate Allan Cott and Transitional Program schedule and act as liaison to all associated contacts (staff, partnering organizations, teaching artists, participants, caretakers, etc)
- Manage Youth Program budget
- Assist in Adult Program classes an average of twice weekly
- Assist with other program and studio duties as necessary
Requirements
- Desire to work in the arts, arts education, community arts, or/and nonprofit sector to create a better community
- Familiarity with a working studio environment and the creative process
- Working knowledge of basic artistic principles and processes
- Willingness to explore a broad range of artistic techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic classroom and studio environment
- Some experience teaching and confidence in your ability to manage a neurodiverse classroom
- Comfortable working collaboratively with a diverse group of adults and youth
- Familiar with Zoom, Facetime, and Google Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills

Proposed weekly schedule (there is some but limited flexibility):
- Mondays 9:30am-12:30pm
- Wednesdays 1-6pm
- Thursdays 9am-4pm
