2024 ACFC Scholarship Application January Cohort

Thank you for your interest in applying for a scholarship for the Advanced Certification in Feminist Coaching. Partial scholarships are made available through the Feminist Mindset Revolution Fund.

The Feminist Mindset Revolution Fund was founded to make events and advanced trainings more accessible. The grants for each event will honor a different feminist thinker, activist, or inspiration.

We are thrilled to be offering scholarship grants from the Fund for the Advanced Certification in Feminist Coaching in honor of Katherine Johnson.

Katherine Johnson began working as a "human computer" at NACA (NASA) in 1953. She is best known for having calculated trajectories for Alan Shepard, the first man in space, as well as John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth. Glenn asked engineers to, “Get the girl” — referring to Johnson, to personally check the electronic computer's results. Katherine remembers the astronauts saying, “If she says they’re good, then I’m ready to go.” Johnson also calculated the trajectory for Apollo 11's flight to the moon in 1969. She did all this while raising 3 daughters alongside her husband. She retired in 1986, after 33 years at Langley. In 2015, at the age of 97, Johnson received a Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama honoring her accomplishments in paving the way for gender and racial equality as a black woman in STEM. She was played by actress Taraji P. Henson in the 2016 movie "Hidden Figures" which told the story of Katherine and the team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. Katherine died in 2020 at the age of 101.

Grants for the Advanced Certification in Feminist Coaching will range from $500 to $4,025. Please note that grants will only cover a portion of the full cost, and you will be responsible for the remainder. Please carefully consider your financial needs in your grant request, understanding that the overall grant fund is limited; the more accurate you can be in identifying the minimum amount needed to make your participation possible, the more people can receive support.

This program is for any certified coach or licensed mental health professional.

Calls with your small group and guest coach instructor will take place on a weekly basis beginning the week of January 8, 2024. You are required to at least attend 10 of the 15 calls with your small group (75%) in order to meet certification requirements. The small group you are assigned to will depend on your availability. In order to complete your application and be considered for the certification, you must make a $100 deposit.

Once you click submit at the bottom of this form you will be redirected to a checkout form where you can provide your credit card information.

Please note that if you are selected to join the January 2024 ACFC class this deposit will go towards your tuition payment.

The total cost of tuition is $11,500. If accepted into the program, you will receive notice of acceptance by email.

You will have 72 hours to accept or decline the scholarship grant. If you accept, you will be charged the remaining amount either in full or via payment plan within 24 hours of accepting your scholarship grant via email.

If you accept, and plan to pay in full, then the remaining amount, depending on the size of the scholarship granted to you, will be charged to your credit card within 24 hours of accepting your scholarship grant via email.

If you plan to pay via a payment plan then the first of six total installments of the remaining amount, depending on the size of the scholarship granted to you, will be charged within 24 hours of accepting your scholarship grant via email.

If you are not selected, then the deposit will be refunded to you and no additional charges will be made. Refunds may take 7-10 business days to appear in your account. If you are offered your full scholarship amount and you decline acceptance the deposit will not be refunded to you.
