Weclome To The BCSA!
In order to be a BCSA member, you first need to be a member of one of the Affiliate Clubs. The exception is if you're from interstate or overseas - then there is no need.
South Australians have three choices for Affiliate clubs:
- Budgerigar Society of South Australia | BSSA | (meets in Unley, south of the City)
- North East Budgerigar Society of South Australia | NEBS | (meets in Hectorville, north-east of the city)
- Port Pirie Budgerigar Society of South Australia | PPBS | (meets regionally around the greater Port Pirie Area)
Subscribing for a hard copy of Chatter is an easy process, but be aware that the electronic copy is available free. If you've already paid for the hard copy subscription with the ring order, there's no need to act further. If you've submitted the ring order but want the hard copies of Chatter, you can avail them for $50 plus Stripe processing fees if you are already a member of the Council and an Affiliate Club member. Subscription runs for the calendar year. Those from interstate or overseas can simply subscribe to the Magazine. There is an option for overseas postage available. You are not required to join the BCSA or a South Australian Affiliate Club to order Chatter.
Once You Become A Member
Subject to your consent below, your details will be passed onto the Affiliate club you have chosen for application for membership, and they will contact you to confirm your membership. They may ask whether you wish to purchase closed coded club rings (not applicable for interstate or overseas subscribers). You can also order your rings online here, using your credit card.
With your Opt In consent, your contact details will also be passed onto the Australian National Budgerigar Council (ANBC), so you can be subscribed to their newsletter.
For those who aren't aware, rings are ordered twice annually – once in August, for issuing on December 15th for the following year, and once in July, as a supplementary ring order for the current years rings. Orders outside of this time frame are considered ad hoc, and will incur an additional freight charge for the rings from the manufacturer in Belgium. For ad hoc ring orders, please contact your local club ring register directly. Any ring orders placed via this site will otherwise be considered as supplementary orders (July), or orders in readiness for the following year.
