    This application is designed to be quick and easy. The online application form takes approximately 5–10 minutes to submit, excluding the personal statement.

    A complete application includes:

    • This online application
    • A personal statement (submitted with this application)
    • An electronic copy of your official transcript (submitted separately via the Official Transcript Submission Form)
    • A recommendation from a professor who has taught and graded you (submitted separately via the Recommendation Form)
    • Approval from your home college or university (submitted separately via the Home School Approval Form)

    All application items must be submitted by March 15 (fall and academic year applicants) or October 1 (spring applicants). However, The Swedish Program operates on a rolling admissions policy. Completed applications will be evaluated as they are received and an admissions decision will be released 1–2 weeks later. Therefore it is possible for the Program to reach capacity before the published deadlines.

  • Passport details

    All students need a residence permit to study in Sweden except EU/EAA citizens. This series of questions will help us best advise you on the residence permit process if/when you are accepted to The Swedish Program.

  • In order to study in Sweden, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the end of your semester. If your passport expires before then, renew your passport now.

  • Personal statement

    Please describe your interest in The Swedish Program and your personal and academic motivations for applying in one–half to one full page.

  • Home school approval

    Approval from your Study Abroad Office is a requirement of the application. Please provide contact information for the person responsible for granting approval. A link to the Home School Approval Form will automatically be emailed to them when you submit this application form.

  • Letter of recommendation

    A letter of recommendation from a professor who has taught and graded you is a requirement of the application. Please provide your professor's contact information below. A link to the Recommendation Form will automatically be emailed to them when you submit this application form. Recommendations are confidential and will not be shared with you.
