The Atlantic Tire Championships return to Cary Tennis Park from September 10-17! This USTA Pro Circuit event features the next rising stars of tennis. Many of these players will be coming to Cary directly from the courts of the US Open and will go on to compete at other ATP Tour Events. Past players include Ryan Harrison, Frances Tiafoe, Reilly Opelka, Mackenzie McDonald, and Jack Sock.
The tournament is currently recruiting ballpersons. Ballpersons play a very important role in the overall operation of each match. Their primary job is to retrieve balls when they are out of play.
*Snacks and drinks will be provided for all volunteers. If you sign up for two or more shifts in one day, we will provide a meal.
**Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Sept 15-17) shifts are not guranteed. These shifts are based on our most experienced ballpersons and those who have also helped earlier in the week with ballperson shifts.
Ballpersons must:
- Know how to keep score, move quickly, endure long matches in the sun, and work well with others.
- Be mature, have good hand-eye coordination, and possess good citizenship.
- Be 11 years old by September 10, 2023 (proof of age may be required) in order to participate.
- Ballpersons will need to attended a 1 hour training. Training dates/times will be emailed.
If you have questions, please contact Erik Aldereguia, our Ballperson Coordinator.
