    Disclaimer:

Becoming a member of a search and rescue (SAR) team is a commendable but challenging endeavor, one that demands a significant commitment, substantial physical fitness, and the willingness to face potential dangers head-on. It's vital to be aware of what you're signing up for:

Physical Fitness and Demands: SAR operations often require members to be in excellent physical shape. This includes endurance, strength, and agility. Regular physical training will be part of your journey to ensure you're prepared for the rigors of the field.

Risk Acknowledgment: SAR missions can expose team members to a range of risks. These might include extreme weather conditions, treacherous terrain, and the potential for accidents or injuries during rescue efforts. You'll be expected to adhere to strict safety protocols, but there will always be inherent risks.

Non-Refundable Fee: At the time of signing up, you are required to pay a non-refundable fee of $175. This fee goes towards equipment, training materials, and other essential resources needed for SAR operations.

Training Commitment: By signing up, you commit to attending all training sessions. These sessions are designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective SAR operations. Training frequency may vary, but dedication is essential to mastering the craft.

Operational Availability: Being part of a SAR team means you must be available for deployment at any time. Emergencies can happen at any hour, and your commitment extends to responding promptly when called upon.

Legal Considerations: Please be aware that joining a SAR team may involve legal responsibilities and liability. Your actions during missions should align with the team's guidelines and local laws. Consult with legal advisors if necessary to understand the legal implications fully.

Training Commitment: By signing up, you commit to fully participating in all scheduled training sessions. These trainings are essential for developing the skills and knowledge required for effective Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. A clear and structured curriculum will be provided, and all instruction will be conducted by professionally trained personnel. You will not be eligible for deployment on real search missions until every required topic has been completed, tested, and signed off by a qualified training officer.

Training Schedule: Trainings are held primarily in Monroe or the Catskills region. The standard schedule follows a biweekly routine, typically taking place every second Sunday. Additional sessions or special trainings may be scheduled as needed. All participants are expected to attend consistently and on time.

Joining a SAR team can be incredibly rewarding, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in your community. However, it's a serious undertaking that requires dedication and a thorough understanding of the challenges involved. If you're prepared to commit, we welcome your interest and look forward to your involvement in our lifesaving efforts.
