Behavioral emergencies include, but are not limited to:
-Your pet is biting/attacking a house-hold member or pet causing significant harm/hospitalization.
-Your pet is showing signs of aggression towards children who are LIVING IN THE HOUSEHOLD.
-You are unable to safely separate pets who are causing each other physical harm and have not been able to successfully implement recommended behavior modification techniques.
-Your pet is self-mutilating (i.e. aggressively biting/chasing tail and causing trauma, pets biting/destroying their way through crates, etc.)
-Your pet has increased aggression from newly prescribed behavioral medications.
If your pet is experiencing a behavioral emergency, please do the following:
-Text the behavioral cell phone at (856) 780-0807 - start your message with the key-word “EMERGENCY” and please provide details regarding the nature of your emergency. IF YOU DO NOT BEGIN YOUR MESSAGE WITH "EMERGENCY" THEN OUR TEAM MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ADDRESS YOUR CONCERN WITHIN 24 HOURS.
-Always provide your availability to receive an emergency phone call from Dr. Shana - please remain as flexible as possible as Dr. Shana may have limited availability, but will always attempt to coordinate an emergency call if necessary.
-Life-threatening behavioral emergencies will be triaged promptly and our team will attempt to reach out to you within 24 hours to coordinate a phone call.
If the concern is urgent, but not life-threatening, Dr. Shana Gilbert-Gregory or a member of the Behavior Team will attempt to attempt to address your concerns within 2-3 business days.
-Non-urgent issues will be addressed within 7 business days.
