  • Our Purpose

The purpose of Long Hill Christian School is to provide quality academic training with a Christ-centered curriculum in a Christian environment. LHCS seeks to develop young people who will be faithful to serve the Lord and be good witnesses. Our desire is to instill within the young people a proper Christian philosophy of life based upon the Word of God and to see them come to love the Lord Jesus Christ with all their heart, mind, and soul. We want to partner with parents in reinforcing a Christian home environment. We do reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone that we feel would not be in harmony with our stated intent.

Please read the following information about LHCS below before filling out the enrollment questionnaire:

Long Hill Christian School is a teacher assisted video streaming school that uses the Abeka curriculum. All grades are taught by teachers from Abeka's school out of Florida on tv's in our classrooms. There are multiple grades inside each classroom, however, each grade is divided by partitions and has their own tv with a teacher teaching their grade. Students use headphones at their desk to watch their teacher on the tv, so as not to have the distraction of multiple teachers teaching at one time. Our classrooms are broken with like-ages. Our teachers inside our school assist the students when they need help, give supplemental work when time allows, and they are the ones who do all of our grading for tests, quizzes, etc. Our teachers manage multiple grades, but are fully aware of what each student is learning for that day and prepare accordingly. Students at LHCS are required to wear uniforms. LHCS is not equipped with the resources required to serve children who are seeking to be admitted into special educational programs. Students who seek admission directly following suspension, expulsion, or behavior problems from another school will not be accepted until they prove themselves elsewhere.

  • Student and Academic Information

  • We are proud to strictly use Abeka curriculum for all subjects at Long Hill Christian School.
Due to the manner of Abeka's advanced curriculum pace and high academic standards, all 1st-12th grade applicants will be given an academic assessment to determine grade placement and to ensure that the school will be able to meet the prospective student’s academic needs.

Placement Decision: The results of in-school testing will be evaluated with any previous student’s report cards and any previous standardized testing scores to determine the best grade level for that student to enter in LHCS. When the combined results are not satisfactory, with the goal of setting up every student for success in the classroom, the student will be recommended for placement at the previous grade.

It should be noted that LHCS’s academic program tends to be a challenge with varying degrees of difficulty for new students. Should a student show academic difficulties in his/her previous program, the likelihood of compounding that difficulty would increase if he/she were placed in the next successive grade at LHCS.
