    Make sure you have everything below ready before you start filling out the online application. We can’t accept incomplete applications.

    ✅ Required Documents:


    A recent photo of your face

    Selfie-style is fine — just make sure your face is clear.
    No IDs allowed (passport, driver’s license, etc.).

    Student Conduct Release Form

    Get this filled out by the student conduct office at the last school you attended.
    Download it from our website or click here. If you have most recently completed a term at SBCC submit this form to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs
    Office, in the Campus Center, Room # CC-218 or email it to flores@sbcc.edu. If not, provide this form to the appropriate Official handling student discipline at the institution you most recently completed a term at. Do not submit an incomplete form.

    We only accept complete applications — everything filled out, signed, and uploaded.

    🎓 Who Can Apply?
    To be eligible, you must:

    Be 18+ years old by the departure date.
    Have finished at least 6 college-level units before the program term starts.
    Have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
    Be in good academic and disciplinary standing (including Title IX).

    Complete the full application AND do an interview with the program director(s).


    If accepted, you’ll need to:

    Pay your non-refundable deposit
    Sign the Program Participation Agreement within 10 days.

  • WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

    Once the study abroad office staff has received and reviewed your completed application with required documents, the program director of the program you applied for will reach out to you to set up an interview. The interview can be held via Zoom if you are located outside of the Santa Barbara area and as long as SBCC offers remote services.

    Once you successfully completed the application process, you will receive an email notification of the acceptance decision with further information and instructions.

    When the program has met its 20 student minimum, you will be notified that the program will move forward and receive the legal documents, which you are required to complete and return to the Study Abroad office by the provided deadline. At that time you can also purchase your flight ticket, enroll for the semester, and/or register for courses.

    A pre-departure meeting will be held, usually at the end of the semester leading up to the start of the program. Attendance is mandatory for participants. Parents of participants are invited to join the meeting.

    The SBCC Study Abroad Office will communicate with you primarily by e-mail. If you change any of your contact information after submitting your application, it is your responsibility to update the information with the Study Abroad Office immediately by sending your new information to nwalther@pipeline.sbcc.edu
