October 5, 2023
Dear Returning Lifeguards,
You have been invited back because we recognize the value you bring to this team, your strengths as a lifeguard and your potential for leadership. As you all know the city has experienced many changes in the last few years and I’m hoping we can all work together to make this another smooth and successful summer for everyone.
Please remember the following for this summer:
- Every guard old and new (no excuses) will be required to swim 550 in 10:00 minutes or less.
- Showing up on time for your shift will be of the utmost importance. All Lifeguards should plan on arriving 15 minutes early and Head Lifeguards should plan on arriving 30 minutes early.
- All lifeguards must wear City of Stamford-issued clothing when on duty (shirt, sweatshirt, bathing suit, etc.) and female staff will be required to wear one‐piece suits again this year.
There will be mandatory training sessions and orientations that are required for your employment. We are working on the dates and will have them posted/confirmed shortly. Once these dates are announced, you must make every effort to attend, or your employment will be in question. We are going to move forward and build off the positives from 2023 and strive to improve even more in 2024. If you wish to be a member of the City of Stamford Lifeguard Team, we look forward to having you.
Please complete the attached form (link below) and return it no later than January 15, 2024. After this date, your position from last year will be open to new applicants.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Jack, Meg, or me,
Best,
