You're probably wondering... what's a Just Because grant?

That's easy! The Just Because Grants are our way to encourage Jewish Kansas Citians to get together and be Jewish together in any way that's meaningful to them... in other words, just because! We know that meaningful Jewish experiences can't be defined by any one person - we all define meaningful Jewish experiences for ourselves.

Just Because Grants offer up to $120 for gatherings for people to engage in Jewish life as they define it. So host a Shabbat dinner in the park, teach friends about your family's holiday traditions, organize a volunteer opportunity or an afternoon hike - and let Federation help you pay for it! Please note that these funds cannot be used for fundraisers and events must be held in the Kansas City metro area.

Please apply for a Just Because Grant at least two weeks prior to your event date, as it may take us up to 10 business days to process applications and ask any follow-up questions.
