  • The Fruita Arts and Culture Board is excited to partner with businesses, students, and teachers to promote the arts and cultural opportunities in Fruita and the lower valley. The scholarships are intended to provide the community opportunities to have projects, lessons and/or supplies to further enhance or experience the arts and exposure to culture. Eligible scholarships for students include but not limited to the funding of classes in the arts like drawing, music, theater, dance, writing or similar events. The scholarship can be used for students needing help with classes, instruments, or supplies. The scholarships are also available to teachers that may need help with supplies related to the curriculum that includes arts and culture. Grants are also available for businesses for artwork or events that enhance arts and culture in the community as well.


    Applications for the Fruita Arts and Culture Board Scholarship Program can be submitted by mailing an application to the Fruita Community Center or emailed to mmancuso@fruita.org. Applications can be turned in at any time but will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. Please submit completed applications to:

  • Fruita Arts and Culture Board Scholarship Guidelines and Process

    Overview

    The City of Fruita Arts and Culture Board is excited to receive applications for the 2026 Scholarship program. These applications will be accepted by the Fruita Arts and Culture Board throughout the year and reviewed on a quarterly basis. Applications will be awarded or denied by the Fruita Arts and Culture Board as they are received. These scholarship/grant applications must be accompanied by a letter of why the scholarship/grant is needed. The Fruita Arts and Culture Board may also request a presentation to the board. Children must be accompanied by a parent or parents.

  • Eligible Projects

    A. Need
    B. Classes or supplies in, but not limited to the following:
         a. 2- or 3-dimensional art
         b. Music-lessons or instruments need
         c. Theater
         d. Writing
         e. Poetry
         f. Dance
    C. Events or projects that further art and culture in Fruita and the lower valley.

  • Process

    Once an application has been submitted and received by Fruita Arts and Culture Board, it will be reviewed by City Staff and the Fruita Arts and Culture Board. In addition, the application will be checked to ensure that it is complete and to determine potential eligibility for the scholarship/grant. If the request is eligible for the scholarship/grant, it will be included on a Fruita Arts and Culture Board agenda to be reviewed during the meeting. Typically, and although subject to change, Fruita Arts and Culture Board meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. Applications can be turned in at any time but will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. While at this point no additional participation is needed from the applicant, if the board has any questions, the applicant will be contacted.

    Once a decision has been made by the Fruita Arts and Culture Board on an application, the applicant will be notified of the decision by City Staff. If approved, a receipt or invoice must be submitted.

  • The Fruita Arts and Culture board will require an essay on how the financial contribution helped you complete or participate in an arts and culture program or event. Applications can be turned in at any time but will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. (This does not replace the City of Fruita Special Event Permit Application.)
