A Community Awareness Ministry (CAM) Project

The purpose of a First Baptist Church Statesboro CAM Project is to invest financially and engage our congregation in sharing a witness for Christ in our community, seeking to make Bulloch County a better place as we live out the biblical command to love our neighbors as ourselves.

To mobilize FBC members to serve teachers/staff at local Bulloch County Schools as an outreach & service project. FBC members will "adopt" a school where their children attend and plan an expression of service, hospitality, or appreciation to the teachers/staff of that school. The goal is to have a FBC team adopt each school in Bulloch County, and this team (comprised of parents and others) will plan & implement the school-specific project, as well as mobilize the FBC members needed to accomplish it.

    1. First Baptist Church Statesboro will provide funding to each of the 15 public schools in Bulloch County to plan and implement a teacher/staff support and appreciation project in the school.
    2. The total funding will be prorated among the 15 schools based on pupil enrollment.
    3. FBC members will "adopt" a school where their children attend and plan an expression of service, hospitality, or appreciation to the teachers/staff of that school. We encourage teachers in our congregation to serve on the team in order to provide ideas and input; we also encourage church and community members to serve on the team to implement this project in the school.
    4. The FBC team will adopt each Bulloch County public school, and this team (comprised of parents and others) will plan & implement the school-specific project.
    5. Assistance can be requested from and provided by the FBC Teacher/Staff Support & Appreciation planning committee and other FBC members.
    6. Projects should be completed no later than November 17, 2023.
    7. The FBC Teacher/Staff Support and Appreciation coordinating committee includes the following members: Gail Mizell, Patsy Parker, Connie Sumner, Mary Sue Smith, Monica Lanier, and Susan Allen.
