There are no vacancies on the RTP committee at this time. Please check back later or contact the RTP Grant Coordinator: jodi.bellefeuille@oprd.oregon.gov
Committee Information: The ten-member RTP committee is responsible for evaluating grant proposals submitted to OPRD for trail projects to be supported by RTP grant funds. The committee holds a multi-day meeting once a year to evaluate grant proposals and hear presentations by grant applicants before recommending projects for RTP funding to OPRD. The committee occasionally meets a second time for a business meeting or project site visit. Time commitment varies and includes independently reviewing and evaluating 25-40 grant applications prior to the annual grant meeting. Committee members serve three-year terms and are eligible to serve a second term.
Ideal candidates can live anywhere in Oregon with experience in at least one of the following areas: land management, recreation planning, trail planning or design, recreation related volunteerism, or a trail enthusiast who is uniquely qualified to evaluate project proposals through other experience and involvement. Strong candidates may also demonstrate an awareness of statewide recreational trail needs, other broad recreational issues, and the importance of providing equitable, inclusive, and accessible recreational opportunities.
Program Information: RTP is a competitive grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration and administered by OPRD. Grants are awarded to non-profits and government entities for motorized and non-motorized trail projects; including building new trails, improving existing trails, and developing or improving trail facilities.
Appointment Process: OPRD will review interest forms and may contact you for an informal interview. Committee appointments are subject to confirmation by the OPRD Director. One area of inquiry will be whether you, your relatives, or a business you're associated with may cause a conflict of interest between private life and public service associated with the RTP committee.
Travel Expenses: OPRD covers travel expenses associated with committee meetings. In the future, OPRD might also be able to offer stipends to volunteer committee members for time spent attending meetings.
