  • Particulars of Dinghies and Tenders (fill in above)

The Club has limited space so there is no guarantee you will be successful in obtaining the plaque(s) needed to keep you boat on our premises or chains.  Please list all the boats you own above and using the dropdown indicate the type of plaque you hope to be allocated or "No plaque needed".  You may need to fill out an additional online Form (which we will send you) to obtain a plaque.

Plaques are linked to particular storage areas and are issued to a specific boat.  They cannot be transferred to another craft without the Club's agreement. Click here for more information.

  • Declaration and Disclaimer

Members renewing or signing up to new memberships must make the following declaration.  Please read it through carefully before signing and clicking "Submit":

    1. I am a resident of the parish of West Wittering and so qualify for WWSC membership under the rules in the Club's Constitution.  The West Wittering address I have provided is a property owned by my family and used primarily for our occupation.
    2. I understand that members with boats must have Third Party insurance to a value of at least £3,000,000 in respect of any accident
    3. I am content for WWSC to make items of my contact details available to other members if change the privacy setting of these items in my online membership account from its default "private" setting
    4. I am content for photos of myself or my dependants to be used by the Club on its website, Handbook, or in publicity material and understand that if this is not the case that I must contact the Club
    5. I have read and understand the statement below on responsibility for safety

A boat is entirely responsible for her own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in the notices or Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces that responsibility.

It is for the boat to decide whether she is fit to sail in the conditions in which she will find herself. By launching or going to sea, the boat confirms she is fit for those conditions and her crew is competent to sail and compete in them.

Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility of the boat nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damages, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing or putting to sea. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and the event, and include the organising authority, the race committee, the race officer, patrol boats and beach masters. The provision of safety patrol boats does not relieve the boat of her responsibilities.

Parents and Guardians are warned that the limitations referred to above apply equally to their children and wards (i.e. those under the age of 18 years) Parents and Guardians have sole responsibility for their children and wards at such times and the Club cannot be expected to exercise supervision and control.
