What to prepare for Always A Bridesmaid
- A comedic style monologue utilizing a Southern accent, at least about 30 seconds in length
What to prepare for Anything Goes & 9 to 5
- 16 bars (30-45 seconds) of a vocal selection in the style of the show(s) you are auditioning for
- You may perform your vocal selection a cappella or with a backing track via Bluetooth speaker
- If you are auditioning for Anything Goes or 9 to 5 there will be an accompanying dance audition (with Tap section
Who?
- Auditions for all (3) productions are open to performers 14 and up
Rehearsals:
- Rehearsals will occur in the evenings and on weekends, official rehearsal schedules will be provided upon being cast

- Anything Goes - Onstage January 9th - 24th
- Always A Bridesmaid - Onstage February 6th - 21st
- 9 to 5 - Onstage February 27th - March 14th
Always A Bridesmaid Character Descriptions:
KARI AMES-BISSETTE (F, late 20s): a kind-hearted, spirited Southern
charmer.
LIBBY RUTH AMES (F, 40s): A hopeless romantic, sweet country
woman, plain-spoken, and guileless.
SEDALIA ELLICOTT (F, 60s): A gregarious, energetic Virginia hostess
and life-force.
MONETTE GENTRY (F, late 40s): Kinda flashy, kinda trashy, Southernto-the-bone flirt.
CHARLIE COLLINS (F, late 40s): A tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing,
acerbic Southern free spirit.
DEEDRA WINGATE (F, late 40s): Headstrong with a dry wit, a nononsense Northern transplant
Anything Goes Character Descriptions:
RENO SWEENEY - A charismatic nightclub singer and former evangelist, she is clever, funny, persuasive and extremely confident. Strong singing and dancing required, as well as comedic timing. VOCAL RANGE: Alto/Belt.
RENO’S ANGELS – Four (4) backup singers/dancers in Reno’s act, they are showgirls with pizzazz and personality. All roles require strong singing and dancing skills. VOCAL RANGE: Various.
HOPE HARCOURT - A beautiful heiress with a strong sense of duty, she is willing to sacrifice love and marry to satisfy her mother’s wishes. Strong singing and dancing required. VOCAL RANGE: Soprano.
BILLY CROCKER – A young businessman who is in love with Hope, he charismatic and charming. Strong singing required and should be able to dance or move well. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone/Tenor.
LORD EVELYN OAKLEIGH - Hope’s energetic, quirky, and good-natured aristocratic fiancé. English accent, strong singing and the ability to move well also required. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone.
EVANGELINE HARCOURT - Hope’s overbearing mother who is mainly concerned with money and social status. Sings with ensemble only.
MOONFACE MARTIN - A loveable gangster who is also loyal and willing to go the distance for a friend. Requires strong comic timing, plus the ability to sing and move well. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone.
ERMA LATOUR - A playful, independent, impulsive, and loveably clueless “dame” – a typical 20’s “gun moll” with a ‘Joisey’ accent. Strong singing and dancing. VOCAL RANGE: Mezzo/Belt.
ELISHA WHITNEY - A successful Wall Street banker who is nearsighted and thinks he is always right. Ability to move well is a plus. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone
REGINALD STRONG – Captain of the S. S. American. Ability to move well is a plus. VOCAL RANGE: Baritone.
MALE / FEMALE ENSEMBLE – Passengers, stowaways, and members of the crew of the S.S. American. All must sing and move well. Various roles will be cast from the ensemble.
9 to 5 - The Musical Character Descriptions:
Violet - The company's Head Secretary and Mr. Hart's Administrative Assistant, she is a single mother and typically stands up for what she believes in. Attractive, strong, ambitious.
Gender: female - Age: 40 to 50 - Vocal range top: D5 - Vocal range bottom: F3
Doralee - A young, sexy spitfire who works at Mr. Hart's office. She is proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Strong southern accent needed (Preferably Dolly Parton coded)
Gender: female - Age: 20 to 30 - Vocal range top: E5 - Vocal range bottom: G3
Judy - The "new" girl at the firm, she has been burned by her husband's affair and is searching for personal empowerment. Insecure, determined, and hopeful.
Gender: female - Age: 30 to 35 - Vocal range top: F5 - Vocal range bottom: Ab3
Franklin Hart - One of the firm's executives and a notorious chauvinist. He is capable of faking charm but usually shows his true colors as an arrogant, self-absorbed boss.
Gender: male - Age: 45 to 50 - Vocal range top: Gb4 - Vocal range bottom: C3
Roz Keith - The attentive office gossip queen and snitch. She has an unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything she can to win his approval.
Gender: female - Age: 35 to 45 - Vocal range top: C5 - Vocal range bottom: G3
Joe - A handsome, young office accountant. Genuine and nice, and smitten with Violet.
Gender: male - Age: 25 to 35 - Vocal range top: G4 - Vocal range bottom: B2
Dwayne - Doralee's attractive husband. He is very supportive of her professional pursuits.
Gender: male - Age: 25 to 30 - Vocal range top: G4 - Vocal range bottom: E2
Josh - Violet's awkward teenage son.
Gender: male - Age: 15 to 18
Missy - Franklin Hart's wife, clueless to her husband's true nature.
Gender: female - Age: 20 to 35
Maria - A young and vibrant secretary in Hart's office.
Gender: female - Age: 20 to 30 - Vocal range top: D5 - Vocal range bottom: F4
Dick - Judy's soon-to-be ex-husband. An average guy, he is sporting a little less hair and a little more paunch than he did ten years ago.
Gender: male - Age: 35 to 45
Kathy - A secretary in Hart's office with a tendency to gossip.
Gender: female - Age: 30 to 40 - Vocal range top: D5 - Vocal range bottom: G4
Margaret - A secretary in Hart's office with a tendency to drink.
Gender: female - Age: 30 to 40
Tinsworthy - Franklin Hart's boss and Chairman of the Board. A good man, who may be wiser to Hart's ways than he lets on.
Gender: male - Age: 50 to 65
Ensemble - Office employees, police officers, hospital employees.
