  • Building Schedule and Timeframes

Please be mindful due to the recent success of HomeBuilder, there are currently both skills and product shortages which may be impacting on your building schedule.

This is unfortunately an industry-wide issue and is not related directly to your builder.

If your build commenced prior to COVID-19 again the period of lockdown may have impacted your building schedule.

  • If the post-practical completion (PC) is more than 5 years ago that a response from Master Builders SA may not be received.  Legal advice should be sought in relation to structural issues beyond 5 years old.

  • Some "visible" cracking can occur at joins in plasterboard, tiles and other materials over time, with the likely cause of such issues being settlement and movement in Adelaide's reactive clay soils.  Some "building issues" can be of a cosmetic nature only rather than a structural failure and can be considered a home maintenance issue.  If it is a product failure there may be a manufacturer's warranty that can be relied upon, and this would likely be in the handover pack issued after practical completion.
