This form is for Licensed Local Pastors who are seeking to renew their license in the Shenandoah River District. If you are in a different district do not use this form. Visit the forms page on the Conference website to find the form for your District.
Congratulations in continuing your journey of ministry in the VAUMC! The Board of Ordained ministry has provided two processes for renewal:
1. The Standard Process which includes:
- Responding to questions which correspond to your year of your renewal. The questions have been incorporated into this form.
- Reporting on your Educational Progress.
- Uploading the annual evaluation from your Staff Parish Relations Committee
- Confirming if you are in the first four years of your appointment and/or have not completed Course of Study or your Master of Divinity that you are a part of a Licensed Local Pastor Mentoring group.
- Please note: The Educational Progress report and the Evaluation from SPRC are NOT required for First Year Licensed Local Pastors. There is a specific option for First Year LLP's below.
2. A Modified Process for local pastors who have served five consecutive years, have completed Course of Study and are actively participating in a clergy accountability group or in the Licensed Local Pastor Fellowship. Pastors who meet this criteria may be eligible to forego meeting annually with the District Committee on Ordained Ministry (dCOM)
The Modified Process includes:
- Uploading Annual Conference Charge Conference forms which are standard in Unity(the pastor's narrative and report on continuing education)
- Uploading the annual evaluation from your Staff Parish Relations Committee
Confirm you have sent the Jotform request to be approved to forego an interview.
- Confirming active participation in a clergy accountability group.
This form will save your entries and can be revisited if it has not been submitted. However, it is better to have your documents prepared ahead of time and complete the form in one sitting.
Once you hit the "submit" button, your application will be sent directly to your dCOM chair. They will reach out to you to schedule an interview.
Let's get started!
