Dear Future Earth community,
The nominations for the Future Earth Governing Council are now open. Please refer to the Governance Terms of Reference for information on duties and responsibilities.
The nomination of Governing Council members is based on both self-nominations and nominations by others through completing the form below by 22 September 2023. The elections will take place online 2-13 October.
Any member of the Future Earth Community is eligible (Assembly members and non-Assembly members) for election to the following vacant seats:
- (1) Early Career Researchers (ECR) at-large*
- (1) from the Global Research Networks (GRNs)
- (2) from the Global Secretariat Hub Boards and Funders
- (1) from National, Local, and Regional Structures
- (1) Sustainability Expert from Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC) at-large*
Please note the following:
- Each Assembly group will vote through a secret-ballot for their respective nominees (e.g., GRNs only vote for GRN nominees).
- *at-large seats for Sustainability Experts from LMICs and for ECR are voted upon by all Assembly members who are from and work within a LIC-MIC country or are ECR. At-large means « anyone meeting the criteria, regardless of the community group they come from ».
- to be eligible to the LMIC group the nominee must have a LMIC nationality AND work in a LMIC
- a single person can only be nominated or self-nominate to represent one community group. Only the first application will be considered.
