Who is Extended Families?

Extended Families is a community-driven not-for-profit organisation committed to disability inclusion, connection, and family support.

We have been matching carefully selected and screened volunteers to support people living with disabilities and their families for over 45 years.

We are a diverse organisation committed to supporting individuals from a wide range of multicultural backgrounds. We create an atmosphere of inclusivity and acceptance for all abilities, identities and cultures and we actively respect Aboriginal culture.

What our Volunteers Do

Our volunteers play a vital role in making a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities. As a volunteer, you will:

Support people living with disabilities and their families to participate in social and community activities, while having fun and developing life skills.

Support children and youth living with disabilities and their families during group events (West and South-East Suburbs of Melbourne).

Provide 1:1 support in the community for children and adults with disabilities, fostering meaningful connections (Bayside, South-Eastern Suburbs and Frankston-Mornington Peninsula).

Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone we support.
