It truly means so much to our donors to read about who you are and how your scholarship(s) at UPIKE impact you.
How to write your thank you note:
Your words are important to our donors. They want to know who you are, what you’re doing, and what your plans are for the future! When writing, please remember to be formal (avoid slang), check your spelling and grammar, and be sincere.
Here’s a basic format to follow when writing thank you letters:
Dear UPIKE Donors,
First Paragraph: Identify yourself and why you are writing. Say thank you early. If there is a particular organization or company this person represents, make sure you tell them to thank everyone who contributed. Also, if you are writing a thank you letter for a named scholarship, identify the scholarship
Second Paragraph: Tell them a little about yourself: where you’re from, what your major is, what your career plans are. Include information about any clubs, volunteer work, or jobs you may have.
Third Paragraph: (Optional) Get personal with them. Tell them what this support really means to you. Or, explain why you like the University of Pikeville. Another approach is to talk in detail about your family or future plans and why college is important to you.
Fourth Paragraph: Say thank you again. Tell them they are making a difference.
Sincerely, (Student Signature)
