  • What is Social Prescribing and who is it for?

    The Social Prescribing Service is a free support that aims to reduce social isolation and improve health and wellbeing.

    We can give you information on, and support you to connect with activities such as  social groups, exercise classes, relaxation sessions, volunteering opportunities, support services and much more.

    Social Prescribing can be particularly beneficial for: 

    • People who are lonely, isolated or disconnected
    • People who experience mild-moderate anxiety/depression
    • People living with one or more chronic health condition(s)
    • People who have been recently bereaved 
    • Members of marginalised communities or cohorts

    To avail of this service you must be:

    • Over the age of 18
    • Living in the Tallaght or Clondalkin Healthy Communities Catchment area. Please refer to our catchment maps below.

    Social Prescribing is not suitable for you at this time if:

    • You are currently in crisis - Please contact the appropriate crisis support service. Follow this link for further information https://www2.hse.ie/mental-health/services-support/get-urgent-help/ 
    • You are unable to leave your home and return safely (unless you have adequate support to do so).
