The Native Prairie Restration/Reclamation Workshop Planning Committee is now accepting abstracts for oral presentations for the 10th workshop, February 7-8, 2024 at the Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre in Saskatoon, SK. The workshop will include oral presentations, case studies, panel discussions, tradeshow and poster session.
About NPRRW:
The workshop theme is "Building Bridges to Tomorrow: Restoration and Reclamation for the Future".
Attendance of approximately 250 participants is expected, including government, environmental non-profit organizations, industry, research and academic institutions, environmental consultants, land managers, agriculture and more.
Potential poster topics include: Tools to Restore or Reclaim Native Prairie, Minimizing impact to Native Prairie, Species Reintroduction, Industry, Prescribed Fire, Invasives, Soils (Mycorrihizae, Biocrust), Ecosystem Management, Seeds (sourcing, mixes, etc), New threats, Urban Projects, Wetland Restoration Projects, and Bridging Gaps.
Poster authors will need to bring a printed version of their poster to display at the workshop. The posters will be visible for the duration of the workshop. Presenting work as posters, allows authors to interact with attendees and discuss their research at length. Posters can be in the beginning phases of projects, project plans, or student projects. Authors are requested to be available to discuss their posters during the designated poster session (February 7th, 5 PM-6:30 PM).
The submission deadline for poster abstracts is January 5th, 2024 at 5 PM MT. Abstracts must be under 250 words, and should include a statement of objectives, brief description of methods, results, lessons learned and conclusions. Projects need to pertain to native prairie restoration or reclamation in some way. Do not include author information in the abstract.
If unsure if your poster would be suitable, please contact Caitlin at caitlinmroz@hotmail.com. Notice of decision will be made by early January 2024 via email.
