Background
Across the nation, twelve states already have laws allowing mental wellness days. Thirty have taken no action. And eight—including Pennsylvania—are considering legislation.
Senate Bill 886, co-written by teens, would grant Pennsylvania students equal mental health days as physical health days, provided they have supporting documentation or a parent note. This bill has not yet been signed into law.
You have the power to advocate for youth throughout the state by sharing your thoughts as to why mental wellness days are needed.
In a few clicks, you'll be asked to share a story, observation, or argument as to why mental wellness days matter. You can be specific, give examples, explain the benefits...all as you see fit. Organize your thoughts however you'd like to help convince lawmakers and administrators that mental wellness days matter.
