Mental Wellness Days

Mental Wellness Days

The Pennsylvania Youth Advocacy Network invites youth to share thoughts about the importance of making mental wellness days available to students in Grades K-12 throughout Pennsylvania.

    Background

Across the nation, twelve states already have laws allowing mental wellness days. Thirty have taken no action. And eight—including Pennsylvania—are considering legislation.

Senate Bill 886, co-written by teens, would grant Pennsylvania students equal mental health days as physical health days, provided they have supporting documentation or a parent note. This bill has not yet been signed into law.
