    Summary Description

    Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services is a local, family-owned Waste Management company and a
    leader in servicing the Tri-County area of South Florida for over 40 years! We are a growing industry
    leader, continuously searching for top professionals with a passion for providing a great customer
    experience.

    We are seeking an experienced Driver with a Waste Industry background capable of
    operating refuse collection vehicles (Front End or Roll Off) and able to cover overnight shifts on preassigned
    and special routes. Our team of drivers is exceptional and the ideal candidate takes pride in safety, excellence, and skill.


    Duties / Responsibilities

    • Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
    • Operate heavy-duty collection vehicles and prepare, load, and transport large containers and compactors.
    • Navigate narrow spaces, roadways, alleys, and driveways and perform skilled maneuvers to deliver and receive
      containers.
    • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
    • Regularly deliver and empty large containers for our commercial customers.
    • Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back up.
    • Regularly open enclosure doors to access containers.
    • Roll 2-4 yard containers on castors weighing up to 600 pounds into position for emptying.
    • Ensure enclosures are free of loose trash before replacing containers.
    • Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or politely direct them to contact Customer Service or Sales Representative for additional information.
    • Notifies supervisor of issues requiring management action.Uses a keymap and GPS to locate service addresses.
    • Follows safe operating practices, including policies and procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck and
      the safety of others.
    • Maintains clean truck and washes exterior weekly.
    • Clean truck daily ensuring it is free of loose trash and packer blade is free of waste. Inspect truck (Lift and inspect under the hood, walk around and check undercarriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires - Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill).
    • Use and operate technology and programs used by the company (tablets, computers, GPS systems, etc.).
    • Complete Route sheet, records mileage, fuel consumption, logbook (as required), vehicle condition reports, and other forms.
    • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.



    Qualifications

    • Speak and write English fluently.
    • Legally eligible to work in the United States
    • Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with air brake endorsement
    • Available to work early morning/night shifts
    • Have at least 2 years of CDL driving history

    PUMP/VACCUM TRUCK DRIVER

    The Pump/Vac Truck Driver operates liquid waste collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes to pump or vacuum liquids/solids. Performs pre-trip and post-trip truck checks and cleaning, and performs other related work as assigned. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation of routes and discussion of problems.

    Duties / Responsibilities

    • This position involves an estimated 20% driving and 80% manual labor (moving hoses, off-loading at facilities, onsite operations, etc.)
    • Drive and operate equipment on site and move equipment to other job sites as assigned.
    • Participate in practical and manual activities daily.
    • Required to assist technicians with work on the job site.
    • Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.
    • Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to, blasting equipment, vacuum trucks, hoses, etc.
    • Required to work in confined spaces, elevated spaces, and hot, wet, cold, and foul-smelling environments during an 8–12-hour shift while holding various sizes of vacuum hoses
    • Performs tasks under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor.
    • When not operating vacuum truck may install meters, and RPZs, read meters, perform work as required to repair and maintain water/sewer mains, obtain lift-station reads, work on storm drain installs, be on-call for emergency service problems
    • Special Requirement – This position is considered to be an “essential personnel.” It is required to report to duty for emergencies such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, sinkholes, water/sewer breaks, and other crises to ensure public safety.
    • Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public to answer questions or politely direct them to contact Customer Service or a Sales Representative for additional information.
    • Notifies supervisor of issues requiring management action.Uses a keymap and GPS to locate service addresses.

    Duties / Responsibilities

    • Engage in phone consultations with business owners and decision-makers, learn about their needs, and recommend the right services.

    Qualifications

    The Baler Operator is responsible for running a baler machine that compresses and binds cardboard. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated & reliable individual who is able to work at a steady pace to meet the schedule of production.

     

    Duties / Responsibilities.

    • Run a baler machine to compress and bind cardboard.
    • Maintain the work area, keep equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
    • Break down cardboard for recycling.
    • Open chamber doors and remove bales. Glasses, sleeves, gloves, and safety vest required.
    • Set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment per the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.
    • Loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
    • Load recycling material onto sorting line.
      Inspects materials and sorts items or materials according to type, size, condition, coloring, marking or other
      characteristics.
    • Load recycling into baler and make bales of various materials.
    • Drive trucks on occasion as directed by the Recycling Supervisor.
    • Assist with minor preventative maintenance on recycling equipment.
    • Clean and maintain recycling facility and surrounding area.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    Qualifications

    The Recycling Sorter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting materials on the conveyor line by performing the following duties.

     

    Duties / Responsibilities

    • Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles or places in container according to type, size, condition, coloring or paper grade.
    • Pull contaminants out of paper or off of floor.
    • Stack boxes and skids. Dump boxes and totes of material.
    • Feed material, such as wastepaper onto conveyor.
    • Clean up the conveyor and surrounding sorting line.
    • Keep the surrounding work area clean and free or debris at all times.
    • Report compromised or contaminated materials and machinery malfunctions
    • Follow appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operating and maintaining equipment.
    • Report any worker-public safety factors and/or equipment malfunctions.
    • Attend monthly safety/operations meetings and comply with safety regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned
