About IDLab co-created projects

At IDLab we facilitate the intake and delivery of multi-party, co-created projects that strengthen cybersecurity by advancing safe and seamless digital credentials.

These projects are supported by IDLab capabilities including: design thinking facilitation, digital identity and credential subject matter expertise, sandbox and hosting infrastructure, assessments and interoperability testing, and capacity building. 

Our intake process helps to refine ideas, identify funding opportunities, and define resourcing needs.

Working in the open

In facilitating these co-created projects, we’re committed to creating a safe space for open collaboration, exploration, problem solving, and knowledge sharing.

All of our co-created projects involve the active participation of both the people working to develop solutions and those who will ultimately use them across the economic spectrum — today and into the future.

Given IDLab’s commitment to working in the open, much of your submission including: project title, description, participant, and status information may be published by IDLab on its website and updated as needed during the life of the project. We may also approach and share co-created project information with third parties for the purpose of verifying if selected third parties would have interest in participating in or funding the project.

• Anyone with a great idea can submit a project idea aligned with IDLab impact areas.

• IDLab facilitates projects with individuals and organizations that we believe will have maximum impact.

• Our process helps to refine ideas and find funding opportunities and resourcing needs.

We want to learn about your project.

Rather than asking for a project description, we're going to ask you to write a "How might we...?" question.

"How might we...?" questions get us to describe the problem by framing a question around a particular benefit to a user group.

When we focus on who we're trying to help and why, the question becomes an opportunity for innovative and co-created solutions.

Here are a few examples:

• How might we enhance the account creation flow for the customer to improve feelings of safety and security?
• How might we help families better manage online access to keep everyone safe?
• How might we improve the functionality of IDLab's Digital Trust Test Bench for testers to make their testing experience more efficient?
• How might we make it easier to stay on top of digital trends for small jurisdictions and small companies so they can keep up with the bigger players?

PS we know "How might we...?" questions can be tricky and uncomfortable at first. Don't worry. You'll have a chance to explain the project in your own words too.
