Tuesdays, October 17-31 (3 sessions)
Noon Eastern | 9am Pacific
One hour and 15 minutes per session

Abraham Joshua Heschel is one of the most unique and important thinkers in modern Judaism. A Hassid who chose Reform Judaism before finding his way to the Conservative movement. A spiritual traditionalist whose steadfast religious faith led him to take increasingly radical political stands. A refugee from Nazi Europe who marched in the American Civil Rights movement.
Heschel is known as a theologian and an activist; a teacher and a protester. In these 3 sessions we will explore his powerful writings on prophecy - i.e. how God talks to people - and discover how his Jewish ideas led to his work as an advocate for social justice.
