In this mini-course we will get acquainted with a pioneering new book, Dabri Torah: Israeli Women Interpret the Torah, published in Jerusalem in the last two years. This is the first book in Hebrew that includes women's commentary to all the Torah portions. About 200 Israeli Jewish women of different backgrounds and religious affiliations contributed to the projects.
There are three different genres of commentary included in Dabri Torah: daughters of Rashi, deeper meaning and poetry. We will read and discuss some of the texts from each of the genres.
Hebrew reading knowledge is not required.
