New Swedish Folk Art Class!

Saturday 23rd from 10AM - 12:00 PM with Tina Rawson at 14 Cedar Street, ground floor level.

Please pay $60 for two hours of folk art making with demo on painting a canvas "bonad" (wall hanging) This is an entry level class good for all abilities. Supplies provided*

* Zoom available too for $20 from 10:30 - 11:15 with a week's notice

The wall hanging below is a big one, yours will be much smaller but still give you room to express yourself! And if you book right away I will gift you a frame which I will order for you. Can't wait!

P.s. please bring your own coffee, and if you decide to stay for an additional two hours, bring your lunch. See below for all the info!

*Supplies:

Provided: canvas, paints, brushes, cups, water, paper towel, bonad examples and information, tape and tracing paper, stencils (optional)

You don't have to be Swedish, it's fun for all! Held at 14 Cedar Street in Amesbury but you can also do a zoom. My philosophy is that art making should be fun! I want you to learn something and enjoy yourself so I have lots of ways to try this. Use my stencils, and ideas; or bring your own and paint free hand.

This is a new class that I developed after my artist residency in Maine at Inn Along the Way. You will learn about the Swedish paintings called "bonad", or wall hanging, and you will start your own. 

The class runs from 10 - 12pm on 9/23 and you will get a canvas, and a magnetic frame if you sign up by 9/18. You will pick your motif and trace it on day one, or freehand your piece. You can chose to finish it either the same day Saturday, 9/23 for $40 more, after lunch.

Or come back the next day, Sunday 9/24, at the 14 Cedar St studio for an additional $40 from 10 - 12. You are also welcome to bring it home and finish it there. Please let me know which you prefer. (You can pay for that on 9/23.)

I meet you where you are in your art practice whether you haven't picked up a brush in decades or are a practicing artist. Let's enjoy making art together in a calm and pretty place at 14 Cedar Street, the mill building, on the bottom floor.

She has over 20+ years teaching experience and started Start 2 Art in 2015 to spread her joy of making art with others. Her studio is in Amesbury at the Cedar Street Studios, which she shares with many other talented artists. We will meet on the groundfloor common area which has large tables, chairs, restrooms and is easily accessible.
