Share Your Voice: PCC Workplace Safety
We need to bring as many workers' voices to the bargaining table as possible. Take a moment to share your experiences around workplace safety so we can let management know what it's really like in the stores every day.

DE-ESCALATION & EMERGENCY EVACUATION
Our union bargaining committee proposed biannual de-escalation and emergency evacuation training to address emergency situations such as violent customer or intruder interactions and natural disasters.
Have you ever felt unsafe at work because of a customer interaction, violent intruder, natural disaster, emergency, or other relevant situation? If so, what happened? How do you think PCC could have handled the situation better?
NIGHT TIME & PARKING LOT SAFETY
Our union bargaining committee proposed that no staff person should be required to enter or leave the store at night alone and may request to be escorted by non-union management or security. Further, that PCC will provide security at all stores where on-site parking is unavailable and allow workers to move their cars to the front of the parking lot after 9 pm on paid time.
Have you ever worried about your safety outside or near your store at night, in the parking lot, or while leaving or arriving at night? Have you seen or heard about any unsafe situations late at night near your store?
GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE / HARASSMENT / STALKING
Our union bargaining committee proposed that PCC partner with domestic violence services to facilitate biannual training with non-bargaining-unit managers on sexual harassment and stalking prevention, to ensure safety of all employees as mutually agreed upon by the union and the employer, and have the same organization develop a training for bargaining unit members to learn how to better identify, prevent, and report sexual harassment and stalking.
How do you think it would benefit you and your coworkers to have management and/or bargaining unit staff get training on how to recognize and prevent sexual harassment and stalking? Have you or someone you know faced any unsafe situations at work related to any gender-based violence?
Do you have any important experiences to share around workplace safety that wasn't asked about? Is there anything else you'd like to share about safety at work, or ways PCC management could improve it?

I understand that my union member bargaining team may share things I've submitted through this form at the bargaining table or as part of our larger fight for a fair contract.
