f) With the medical information we sent with your puppy, your veterinarian will recommend a vaccination and deworming schedule that is right for your puppy Your puppy has been on a regular deworming schedule that is outline on the medical record sent with him/her Parasites are common in puppies, and we make every effort to keep puppies parasite free with a regular deworming schedule. We cannot guarantee that no parasites exist. However, puppies can easily reinfect themselves. As puppies grow to maturity, heartworms can become a problem. A regular deworming schedule recommended by your veterinarian will keep your puppy/dog happy and healthy. Upon receipt of your puppy, he/she will have had its first puppy vaccination which will be noted on the medical record. We give Pfizer DA2PPv at approximately 6 weeks old. This vaccination helps protect your puppy against Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis) Parainfluenza, and the Parvo Virus. Parvo is a highly contagious virus. The first vaccination will begin to protect your puppy against Parvo. However, until your puppy has had its last puppy shot at approximately 16 weeks of age, your puppy is at risk for the Parvo Virus. Therefore, we recommend that the puppy have lim ited exposure to public areas until that time. We ask that you give the remaining puppy shots approxi mately every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks of age or in accordance with your veterinarian's recommend ations. Your pup py cannot go outdoors, to any parks or walks until they are 16 weeks ofage and FULLY vaccinated. Never allow your puppy or full grown dog to drink out of still water, puddles etc as that will contain parasites.
