    By selecting yes below you are acknowledging that you fulfil the requirements of the course which are:

    • Minimum 17 years of age
    • Financial member of a Surf Life Saving Club
    • Have 2 years of patrolling experience
    • Proficient in Bronze Medallion

    If you wish to complete the SMPC Bridging course (abbreviated) you must have additional operational experience as a patrol captain (or equivalent) which may involve:

    • acting as a Patrol Captain (must have a reference from their supervising patrol captain or Chair of Lifesaving)
    • a Vice Patrol Captain (must have a reference from their supervising patrol captain or Chair of Lifesaving)
    • working as a Beach Lifeguard.

    • Proficient in Bronze Medallion and IRB Crew awards
    • Must hold a WA Recreational Skippers Ticket

  • Drone Operator

    Prerequisites

    • Minimum 16 years of age (on the day of final assessment)
    • Financial member of the Surf Life Saving Club
    • Proficient in a recognised award such as Bronze Medallion, Surf Rescue
    • Certificate, Radio Operations, First Aid or ART
    • Be prepared to obtain a CASA Aviation Reference Number (ARN)
    • Be prepared to complete the RPA Operator Accreditation
    • Be prepared to do at least 2 Patrols as a Drone Operator, and at least 2
    • Patrols as a Drone Spotter (assisting Droner Operator) during the coming season.
