Key Collection
A key is required for use of the room. Please contact cnewberry@rowingsa.asn.au to organise collection prior to your booking.
The key needs to be returned after use. Please deposit the key, in the Rowing SA mailbox, outside of the Indoor Rowing Room door.
Indoor Rowing Room Rules
Please follow the rules below to ensure that both the room and ergos are maintained in proper working condition. This is a community resource, so your respect and common sense is appreciated.
- All users must be registered with a club or school.
- All athletes under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a coach.
- Ensure footwear is clean before entering.
- No food/sugary drinks are permitted in the rowing room – Water only please.
- If you make a mess – clean it up. Cleaning equipment is available.
- Report any damage to cnewberry@rowingsa.asn.au
- Leave the room tidy, and as you found it.
- Place all rowing machines back on hanging racks after use.
- Sanitise your machine after use.
- Make sure you check the lights, fan, a/c, turn on the alarm and lock the door before you leave.

CONDITIONS OF HIRE
The hirer assumes all responsibility for the equipment for the duration of the hire period. The hirer acknowledges that all equipment is the property of Rowing SA, and Rowing SA confirms that the equipment is in good and correct working condition at the time of hire. The hirer agrees to return the equipment and room in the same condition as provided and accepts responsibility for the cost of any repairs or reinstatement required to return the equipment to this condition. In the event that any equipment is lost, stolen, misplaced, destroyed, or damaged beyond economic repair for any reason or under any circumstances, the hirer must pay to Rowing SA, upon demand, the current retail replacement price of the equipment.
Delivery and removal of the equipment
If the hirer fails to return the equipment at the end of the hire period or upon termination of the hire, Rowing SA may enter any property where the equipment is located to retrieve it. The hirer indemnifies Rowing SA against all claims by any person, including the hirer, arising from such entry and retrieval.
Hiring Charges
The hire period is limited to the dates stated on the booking confirmation, and no refund will be provided for any unused portion of the hire period. All hire charges payable by the hirer include GST.
Care of Equipment and Breakdowns
The hirer must use and care for the equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications, recommendations, and Rowing SA guidelines. The hirer agrees to take proper care of the equipment and warrants that they are experienced and competent in its use. Any breakdown or malfunction resulting from misuse or from failure to use, service, maintain, or store the equipment correctly will be repaired at the direction of Rowing SA, and the hirer must immediately notify Rowing SA of any such issue by emailing admin@rowingsa.asn.au
Injury or damage to hirer or property
The hirer warrants that they have inspected the equipment and deemed it suitable for its intended purpose. Rowing SA is not liable for any loss or damage suffered or sustained by the hirer, or any liability incurred by the hirer, as a result of or in connection with any breakage or malfunction of the equipment. The hirer must notify Rowing SA immediately in the event of any malfunction. If the key is not returned within two working days (Monday to Friday) following the hire date, it will be presumed lost and a replacement fee will be issued to the hirer’s club.
Rowing SA accepts no liability for any personal injury, loss, or damage arising from neglect, misuse, inadequate or improper maintenance, alteration, incorrect assembly or adjustment, or use of the equipment contrary to the manufacturer’s recommendations or in breach of any warranty or representation made by the hirer. The hirer agrees to use the equipment entirely at their own risk and agrees that Rowing SA is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage resulting from use of the equipment, however caused. The hirer further agrees not to bring any claim against Rowing SA or any associated person or entity in relation to any such injury, loss, or damage.
