The Board of Ordained Ministry in the Virginia Conference awards financial aid to those seeking to fulfill their Clinical Pastoral Education requirement for full membership in the United Methodist Church.
You are welcome to submit this application at any time. However, applications are reviewed under the following cycle:
For Summer CPE: Submit by April 1
For Fall CPE: Submit by July 1
For Winter and Spring CPE programs: Submit October 1
Eligibility:
1. Applicants must be a certified candidate or a licensed local pastor in the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church seeking ordination as a Deacon or Elder. Provisional Elders and Deacons can also apply for aid. Funding may be available for those in the Other Methodist(OE) status serving in the VAUMC depending on the demand of funds.
2. Applicants must be attending (part-time or full-time) or have attended a school of theology approved by the University Senate of The United Methodist Church or an Advanced Course of Study program approved by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church.
4. Applicants must have the recommendation of their District Committee on Ordained Ministry.
5. Applicants must have the recommendation of their District Superintendent.
