Welcome to 12th Hour Hope! Our mission here is to empower women, raise awareness of gender inequality, and create a safe haven against intimate partner violence. We know we can’t accomplish this on our own, that's why it is important to have a team of motivated and passionate individuals!

The Board of Directors is the governing body of a nonprofit. Those who serve on a board oversee the organization’s activities. Nonprofit board members use their meetings to discuss matters that affect the nonprofit and keep a focus on the organization’s mission. Their primary duties are working on strategy, setting goals and objectives, overseeing programs and activities, and actively managing risks. Additionally, the board is also responsible for selecting, evaluating, and, if necessary, replacing the Executive Director.

The Organization Board will initially have 4 standing committees: (1) Board Building & Governance, (2) Fundraising, (3) Program/Events, and (4) Marketing/Communications. Please select no more than two options.
Board Member responsibilities include attending virtual board meetings, which on average are once a month and last about 1.5/2 hours. There are times when it is necessary for the Board to have additional meetings, but all members will be notified in advance. Board Members are expected to attend meetings and can be removed if three consecutive meetings are missed without notice (three excused absences are permitted annually). Moreover, because 12th Hour Hope is still in its’ startup phase, the Board will currently be a “Working Board.” Members are not required to be at every event, but as much as possible, we need "all-hands-on-deck." Lastly, all board members are also expected to serve a minimum of 1 year. Will you be able to make this commitment to 12th Hour Hope?
