A $35.00 administrative fee will apply to any edits, corrections, or deletions required due to inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client. We provide officiant services in all 48 states, with a specialization in the State of North Carolina. If you are using an out-of-state marriage license, you must contact us in advance to confirm whether any additional requirements must be completed by the Officiant prior to your scheduled signing date. Please note: Simple Signings are informal ceremonies and include the couple and two witnesses only.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

To provide officiant, notary, and related professional services, Elysian Officiant & Notary services may collect and review personal information, including but not limited to government-issued identification, marriage licenses, and other documentation required to verify identity and eligibility for services.

All personal information collected is used solely for the purpose of service delivery, identity verification, fraud prevention, recordkeeping, and compliance with applicable professional standards.

Consent to Collect and Review Identification Documents

By submitting documentation or presenting identification, the client authorizes Elysian Officiant & Notary services to collect, view, and temporarily retain copies or records of government-issued identification, marriage licenses, and related documents as necessary to perform requested services.

Clients acknowledge that failure to provide accurate and matching information may result in refusal or discontinuation of services without refund.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Elysian Officiant & Notary services takes reasonable measures to safeguard personal information and limits access to such information to authorized personnel only. Personal information is not sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties except as required by law or as necessary to complete the requested service.

Documents and records are retained only for the period reasonably necessary to fulfill professional obligations and are then securely destroyed in accordance with standard privacy practices.

The collection and review of personal information does not constitute legal, immigration, or governmental representation. Elysian does not provide advice regarding legal status, immigration eligibility, or document validity beyond the scope of the requested service.

Notice: Marriage License & Identification Requirements (North Carolina)

It is the sole responsibility of the couple to obtain a valid, original marriage license issued by the appropriate county prior to the scheduled signing. Elysian does not issue marriage licenses and is not responsible for delays, errors, or the inability to perform services resulting from incomplete, expired, altered, or invalid documentation.

Prior to completing any signing, Elysian will conduct a reasonable review to confirm that the marriage license presented appears to be an original, county-issued document. This review does not constitute legal verification or guarantee of validity.

All identification presented at the time of booking and at the time of signing must match the information listed on the marriage license. Services may be refused or discontinued if identification or license information does not match, or if fraud or misrepresentation is reasonably suspected. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

Notice: Out-of-State Marriage Licenses (North Carolina)

Marriage licenses are governed by the laws of the issuing state or county. If a marriage license is issued outside of North Carolina, it is the responsibility of the couple to confirm that the license is valid for use in the location where the marriage will be solemnized.

Elysian Officiant & Notary Services does not issue marriage licenses and does not provide legal advice regarding license validity, jurisdictional requirements, or filing procedures for out-of-state or international licenses.

Services may be refused or discontinued if an out-of-state marriage license is determined to be invalid for use in North Carolina, incomplete, expired, altered, or inconsistent with identification presented. In such cases, all payments remain non-refundable.
