Adult Volunteer Declaration
Troop relies on parent volunteers to support and enrich scouting journey for the scouts. We require a parent to register as Adult leader with BSA, renew registration every year and take up a volunteer position. If every parent contributes their fair share, the volunteer work is not more than couple of hours a week.
Parent/ Guardian of scout agrees to register with BSA as adult leader and take up a volunteer position with the troop, as prerequisite for troop membership.
Following are brief description of the roles:
a. Assistant Scoutmaster: Works directly with scout in testing/ teaching scouting skills, signs off requirements, complete IOLS and other required training
b. Troop Committee: Sets troop policies and handles administrative functions like Membership, Advancement, Treasurer etc. They act as parent support group, allowing ASM and Scoutmaster to focus on working directly with the scouts.
c. Troop Committee- Board of Reviews: Participate in BOR panels, which is final step in Rank advancement for scouts
d. Merit Badge Counselor: Guide scouts through requirements for merit badges and signoff on completions.
