  • AMAC LA Airport Business Advocacy Council (ABAC) Legislative & Policy Committee

    What We’ll Do:

    • Quarterly Listening Sessions: Gather real-time input from DBEs, ACDBEs, and other small businesses across the region.
    • Executive Roundtables: Host strategic meetings with airport executives to present data and propose solutions.
    • Policy & Process Recommendations: Collaboratively develop improvements to certification, solicitation, bonding, insurance, and workforce access.
    • Legislative Action: Support recommendations through AMAC LA’s Advocacy Symposium in Sacramento and with local policy influencers.
  • AMAC LA Annual Advocacy Day Committee
    What we'll do:

    • Advance Policy: Advocate for legislation that protects and expands DBE/ACDBE participation, strengthens compliance accountability, and funds inclusive infrastructure.

    • Engage Decision-Makers: Meet with state legislators, agency officials (CALTRANS, DGS, LAO), and transportation leaders.

    • Educate & Empower: Provide advocacy training and talking points so members feel confident sharing their stories and priorities.

    • Grow the Movement: Inspire non-members to join AMAC LA by showing the power of collective advocacy and economic voice.

  • Finance Committee

    This committee is chaired by the VP of Finance:

    • Create financial goals, objectives and strategies to be presented and approved by the chapter officers.
    • Collaborate with other committees to develop funding strategies.
    • Maintain and report on chapter finances.
    • Develop chapter budget and monitor spending.
  • Membership Committee

    This committee is chaired by the VP of Membership:

    • Develop and implement strategy to recruit paying chapter members in collaboration with other committees.
    • Develop and implement strategy to ensure targeted member participation of concessionaires, airport professionals and design and construction professionals.
    • Manage and oversee membership list such as membership renewals, and delinquencies.
    • Development of plan to promote member benefits awareness of the resources, services.
    • Development of process and plan to welcoming new members, facilitating onboarding, and encouraging participation.
    • Coordinates with programming committee to ensure targeted outreach for specific events/membership targets is carried out.
  • Aviation/Government Affairs Committee

    This committee is chaired by the VP of Aviation:

    • Develop and implement AMAC LA's efforts to promote employment diversity in the airport industry, inclusive of all levels of airport management and operations.
    • Supports AMAC LA's outreach efforts to build a pipeline of candidates for senior and executive leadership roles in our nation’s airports.
    • Collaborate with other committees to plan, develop and implement programs aimed at enhancing opportunities for professional development.
    • Work closely with other trade associations to increase candidate visibility and readiness in preparation for leadership roles in airports.
  • Programs/Special Events Committee

    This committee is chaired by the VP of Programs:

    • Oversee new program development, monitor and assess existing programs such as educational and professional development seminars and/or workshops.

    • Support monthly chapter meeting and networking events to develop informative agenda topics, keynote speakers and logistics.

    • Identify and invite subject matter experts, keynote speakers, panelists, and special guests.

    • Collaborate with finance committee to create and execute fundraising/sponsorship initiatives for chapter events and workshops.

    • Support monthly chapter meeting and networking events to develop informative agenda topics, keynote speakers and logistics.

    • Collaborate with other committees to develop strategies and facilitate discussions on any special outreach needs associated with specific programs.

  • Corporate Relations Committee

    This committee is chaired by the VP of Corporate Relations:

    • Secure financial resources for AMAC LA by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding mutually beneficial relationships with local and national corporations, in collaboration with Programs/Special Events Committee.

    • Develop fundraising plan to obtain chapter program support from corporate members for programs in collaboration with Programs/Special Events Committee.

    • Develop and implement plan to highlight corporate members in collaboration with other committees.

    • Create program support and partnership goals and objectives to be presented and approved by the chapter officers.

    • Support the development of strategies and initiatives for revenue generation and developing and nurturing corporate relationships.
  • Communications Committee

    This committee is chaired by the VP of Public Relations:

    • Developing and managing external communication channels such as email, newsletters, intranet, or internal social media to ensure that members and the public are informed about chapter news, events, membership opportunities and growth efforts. 

    • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote a better understanding of AMAC LAs mission and vision.

    • Develop plan on communication and engagement initiatives to amplify AMAC LA’s members and stakeholders to be presented and approved by the chapter officers.

    • Coordination with other committees to ensure consistent messaging to promoting the chapter’s image and activities in the region.
