Please note: I will do my best to accomodate your timeline. Generally you should expect a piece to take at least two months or more.

Each layer takes less than an hour or two to apply, but oil paint takes at least 8 hours to dry and up to 6 months to cure. Even working on a piece everyday takes quite some time because of the wait time between layers.

The graph above summarizes what you should expect out of the pricing on commissions. These numbers are ballpark estimates based on how much time a piece should take to paint and a fixed hourly rate. These numbers are not your final quote for the commission. 

You pick your size and level of detail in the fields below. I will paint your piece within the alotted time, sending you update photos after each painting session.

Once the piece is complete to the specified parameters, within the alotted amount of time I will show you the finished product. 

If you have any further adjustments or changes for me to make outside of the alotted time you will pay an additional $25/hour. 

Some art work is completed alla prima, "all at once," allowing details to blend together more, these tend to have a lower level of defined detail.

Others require layers of work, resulting in higher definition in a piece, increasing the detail with each layer.

Low abstraction means a strictly representational illustration of the subject matter.

A medium level of abstraction may allow more expressive color to be introduced or more of the Alexis' signature waves of color to be incorperated into the composition.

High abstraction means the piece will consist more of colors, shapes, and textures (primarily waves of color), than identifiable subject matter.
