Open Arts Studio Company

Open Arts Studio Company is a new teen dance company in Brooklyn led by Choreographer and Artistic Director Laura Peterson and Rehearsal Director Sofia Quezaire. We are looking for young artists to be part of a collaborative, creative group of pre-professional dancers.

Rehearsals begin in SEPTEMBER 2024.
We prefer Saturdays 10am-1pm.
If needed, we will change rehearsal days. Apply with your schedule availability.
We have one free technique class available during the week for all company members.

This season culminates in a public performance at Open Arts Studio in November 2024

Each week includes one class and one rehearsal.

The NYC Public School system a few days off during which we'd like to have more intensive days.

Open Arts Studio Company is directed by Choreographer and Artistic Director Laura Peterson. Laura has worked with students for more than 15 years. Her dances work have been commissioned and presented at venues in the US and internationally. In 2022 & 2023 she was Co-Director of the Young Artists Program in Lucca, Italy in collaboration with Dance Italia. She has taught and created dance for university dance programs in the US, and is a current faculty member at the Joffrey Ballet School.

This is the second season Open Arts Studio Company. Join us!

All students have the opportunity to participate in the creative process by making a collaborative dance. We are open to your interests!

This company is tuition free for both classes & rehearsals.
