Because of the great difficulty of raising student support, the Karns elders ask all students who receive funds raised by or through the efforts of the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies. Students must read and sign the following agreement:

Realizing how difficult it is to raise funds for student support, and in appreciation fo rthe efforts made by the staff of SEIBS to raise funds on by behalf, and in consideration of future students who will have the same needs as I. I promise that upon, or in anticipation of my departure, I will in no way ask for, solicit, or accept the funds provided me by supporting churches or individuals while enrolled at SEIBS. I also promise not to solicit or accept said funds for a period of two (2) years following graduation from such churches or individuals. This does not apply to funds I raise for myself through my own independent efforts. It does apply to any and all funds provided from churches and individuals that are assigned to me or passed on to me by the School and its staff sent to me through the School's treasury. 

I also promise that I will not seek financial help for other students from such supporters. If I believe that such efforts are advisable, I will discuss it with the Dean of Students, who can advise of the appropriate action. I will not provide a list of such supporters to anyone else.

If a supporter sends funds directly to me when arrangements have been made to handle it through the Karns treasurer, I will turn this over to the treasurer. This is neccesary because the treasurer will provide the regular checks on schedule in anticipation that such support funds will arrive. This, of course, does not apply to contributions which are independent of the aforementioned arrangement.

I will inform the Dean of Student of any changes in my income/support, or other changes in my situation, which might alter my need for the financial aid I am receiving.

I understand that I am not allowed to solicit funds from members of the Karns church of Christ.

I understand that those who send support will be provided information regarding my progress, as well as information regarding any problems which I might have that the staff of SEIBS believes should be communicated to the supporters.

I will communicate regularly with all of my supporters. Once a month I will give updates for each supporter to the Office Manager for recording and mailing. I understand that my support may be suspended if the updates are not sent. 

I also understand that a copy of this contract will be sent to my supporters if necessary.
