2025 Competition Season
At Danceworks, we’re happy to provide our dancers with the opportunity to perform at two local dance competitions in the spring. Any interested dancers, ages 7 and up, are welcome and encouraged to participate. Dancing in comp offers our dancers another chance to perform and share their love of dance with an audience. When added to technical training, the process of preparing a piece for competition is hugely beneficial to a dancer’s progress and provides lasting memories.

Danceworks Competiton dancers must...
- be 7 years of age or older.
- be enrolled in, and attending the required technique classes.
- commit to and prioritize regular Friday or Saturday rehearsals.
- commit to performance dates on April 30-May 4 and May 8-11.
All Danceworks dancers who are interested in dancing in competition and who meet these requirements are welcome to join. We will configure our competiton choreography to include all of you.

Technique Class Requirements

Dancers performing in 3 or more dances are required to enrol in both Ballet and Modern Classes. Dancers performing 3 or fewer dances, must take either Ballet or Modern for their technique class requirement. *Exceptions are made for dancers performing Hip Hop or Tap dances.

Dancer Availability

Competition rehearsals take place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings and afternoons. Each dance will rehearse once every two weeks from September through March, and will increase to once per week in the final 2 months leading up to our performance dates. We do not rehearse on Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Break, Family Day weekend, or Easter weekend.
