The Project
I'm currently in residence with Metal Southend to explore female (and those who identify as female) artists perspectives and experience of identity and visibility in their forties and beyond. I aim to use the residency to carry out research into the representation of women culturally at this stage of their lives and to collect a diverse range of stories from the artistic community both real and from mythology and folklore to inform an R&D for a future piece of performance work.
About Me
I'm a professional performance storyteller and creative arts practitioner with over twenty-five years’ experience of both performing and delivering projects. I have a particular passion for introducing and connecting communities through storytelling and inspiring others to tell their stories. My company’s Tiny Tales Storytellers provide storytelling to Pre-school and Primary school children and their families and Spinning Yarns Theatre provides pop up storytelling and spoken word/music events for a primarily adult audience in Essex. I’m particularly interested in European folklore and the female gaze/identity in folk tale and myth.
