CODE OF CONDUCT-BEHAVIOR POLICY
· Behave in a manner befitting an Orthodox Christian
· Maintain self-control and refrain from using profanity and/or profane gestures
· Show respect to the clergy, Biddy Directors, coaches, fellow teammates, and adults
· Show courtesy to all sports officials, and authorities
· Show respect for all opponents
· Play the game fairly, play to the best of my ability and accept the outcome graciously
RULES, PENALTIES & ENFORCEMENT
Rules:
Each player, coach, parent, volunteer, and spectator must comply with the following rules:
A. Each player and parent must have signed the “Code of Conduct” form and on file before participating in the Biddy Program of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Chicago.
B. The following types of behavior will not be tolerated
1. Yelling and arguing with referees, coaches, players, volunteers, or spectators in a degrading or disrespectful manner.
2. Throwing any objects on the gym floor
3. Entering the gym floor at any time before, during, after any game(s)
unless instructed by the Biddy Staff/Coaches.
4. Disrupting or interfering the practices of games
Penalties for Violations:
A. Violations of any of the before mentioned rules may result in any or all of the following consequences/Offences:
1. Verbal Warning
2. The Biddy Director(s) and/or Coach will speak to the individual and/or parents outlying cause for concern.
3. One (1) game suspension from participating and/or attend a game
Biddy Game/Event.
4. Suspension of player from team for remaining part of the year. In addition, if violator is other than player, violator will not be allowed to attend any remaining practices, games, and/or events for the remaining games of the season.
Rules Enforcement:
A. Biddy Director and Coach(s) will have full and final discretion to enforce this Code of Conduct and Behavior Policy.
B. Biddy Director and Coach(s) will also hold a meeting with the clergy of St.Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Chicago to discuss the violations and decide further actions. This may include a further period of suspension or permanent expulsion from the basketball program. I understand that the purpose of the program is to give me (or the player I am signing on behalf of) the opportunity to participate in athletic events, experience Orthodox fellowship, have fun, and grow in my relationship with Jesus Christ and my fellow man
