This agreement outlines the expectations regarding group consultation toward EMDRIA Basic Training Completion
Consultation groups for Basic Training hours will be held on the following day:
Monday Evenings at 6 PM Eastern Standard Time (90 minute groups)
Friday Evenings at 6 PM Eastern Standard Time (2 hour groups)
*The group commitment is two 90 minutes group sessions and one 2-hour group session which is a total of 5 hours of basic training consultation.
Group Consultations are structured as follows:
The focus of this professional consultation is the clinical application of EMDR in one’s professional practice. This consultation is not clinical supervision; the consultant does not elicit sufficient clinical information, and is in no way responsible for the clinical decisions or management of the cases discussed. The goal of this consultation is to continue the initial training addressing questions that come up in applying EMDR in one’s practice.
Neither Bonita Ashe, as the consultant, nor other therapists/participants shall be construed as providing supervision to a participant in any specific case. While clinical possibilities will be discussed and ideas shared in relation to the clinical situations presented, the therapist is solely responsible for the clinical management of the client/patient and is expected to exercise their best judgment in all relevant clinical matters.
Whatever information is presented in these sessions are to be kept confidential among the participants both during and after your participation in the group. Client identifying information is not to be used or disguised to protect client confidentiality. Please select a quiet and appropriate place to participate without distractions. Please do not attend while driving or other multitasking. Please keep your video on so that I know that the group knows we have your full attention.
Keep yourself on mute and just unmute yourself when you want to comment or ask a question. To manage the time, I will ask who has specific questions at the beginning of the meeting although questions can be asked as they come up.
A collegial atmosphere is advocated and will be fostered at all times during this process. In the rare event of a conflict, both Bonita Ashe and consultee commit themselves to resolve any issues in a professional manner. Both consultant and consultee agree to abide by the code of ethics of the professional organization(s) to which we belong.
Consultee is financially responsible for the groups as enrolled even if unable to attend. If consultee is unable to attend a group, even for very valid reasons, there is an additional cost to join another group or schedule a time with another consultant.
Stand alone group consultation fees are $60 for a 90 minute group and $80 for a 2 hour group. Consultee is welcome to reach out to other EMDR Institute facilitators or trainers to find other scheduling and price options for consultation.
